Jerry graduated magna cum laude from the University of Mississippi in 2000 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and English.  His undergraduate work earned him acceptance into Phi Kappa Phi, the highest academic honor awarded by the University of Mississippi.  He obtained his Juris Doctor in 2003 from the University of Mississippi School of Law, where he graduating cum laude, was ranked 14th in a class of 134 students and received the Outstanding Student Award for making the highest grade in Torts, Wills and Estates and Fifth Amendment Taking.  He was also a member of the Moot Court Board, Phil Delta Phi and was a regional finalist for the prestigious White House Fellows Program.

Jerry started his legal career at Butler, Snow, O’Mara, Stevens & Cannada, PLLC, where he defended clients in commercial, personal injury, mass tort and product liability litigation.  While at Butler, Snow he was appointed a Special Prosecutor for the State of Mississippi to handle murder cases in Hinds County, Mississippi.

His work as a Special Prosecutor was recognized by then United States Attorney Dunn Lampton, who appointed him as an Assistant United States Attorney for the Southern District of Mississippi. His time as a Federal Prosecutor was devoted to prosecuting hundreds of serious criminal offenses, including bank and postal robberies, firearm charges, identity theft, embezzlement and mail fraud.

During his time at the Department of Justice, Jerry achieved numerous victories, including the convictions of a felon in possession of a firearm who received 24 years in prison and an armed bank robber who received 22 years in prison.  Jerry also successfully prosecuted several fraud and embezzlement cases, including the conviction of an individual charged with embezzling $297,657.26 from her employer.

Building on his courtroom experience as a prosecutor, Jerry embarked on his own legal practice and dedicated his time to securing compensation for injured individuals and their families.  Since founding Abdalla Law, PLLC, Jerry has recovered millions of dollars in settlements for his clients, handling cases involving a wide variety of injuries, including car and 18-wheeler wrecks, mesothelioma and lung cancer caused by asbestos exposure, wrongful death, worker’s compensation, nursing home abuse and personal injury.  Through hard work and dedication, Jerry has developed a reputation for honesty, aggressiveness and fairness.  His cases have resulted in recoveries of $2,140,000 for a mesothelioma victim, $500,000 for asbestosis victims, $150,000 in a wrongful death case and $50,000 for a dog bite victim.

Jerry has also successfully handled several appeals before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, including Everitt vs. Pneumo Abex, L.L.C., where the Fifth Circuit held that approximately 1,300 to 1,400 asbestos victims had been improperly dismissed and USA vs. Denson, where the Court upheld a defendant’s prison sentence.

Jerry is licensed to practice in all Mississippi state and federal courts, as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.  When he isn’t working, Jerry enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, playing golf, hunting and watching football.
